Breast Reconstruction Recommendations and Resources
Keep a Copy of Your Implant Identification Cards in Your Files
If you decide to get breast implants as part of your reconstruction, you’ll receive device identification cards with the style and serial number of your breast implant(s) following your surgery. It is important that you keep a copy of this card because you may need to refer to the information at a later date.
You can also request a copy of the Mentor implants package insert (directions for use) from your surgeon, or directly from Mentor. The package insert has many undefined medical and technical terms because it contains information directed only to the surgeon.
For more detailed information on the preclinical and clinical studies conducted by Mentor, please refer to the summary of safety and effectiveness data (ssed) for this product at www.fda.gov/cdrh/breastimplants/.
